MEASURE FIELD THROWS WITH A LEICA E7500i
The post here will:
1. Discribe purchasing parts and building a Reflector.
2. Written Training on the use of the E7500i.
3. Video Primer on How to set up and Use the E7500i
4. The Leica Disto E7500i Operator manual
5. Filling out the Electronic Measure_Form-of-conformity
3. Videos of how to setup and use the E7500i for Ambulatory and
Seated Field.
There are 2 ways you can use the E7500i to measure:
Note: both these these method videos, below, use the older Leica
unit. The video information is correct. Use the Video primer above
to set up the E7500i.
a. Measure from the back of the ring moving the tripod for each
reading with no movement of the E7500i on the tripod. This is
the prefered method for ambulatory throws in a concrete ring
where you are measuring for 1 throw. Discus and Shotput.
b. Measure from the center of the ring where the tripod is
positioned in one spot and the E7500i swivels left and right for
each throw. This is the prefered method for seated throws
where the chair is removed and the unit can read all 6 throws at
one time. Discus, Shotput and Javelin also ambulatory Javelin
and Long/triple jump.
Note: If the chair is being shared this method may not be
possible and the "a" method would be used to work over
the tied down throwing frame. If this method is used on a
grass throwing ring the back of the ring must be marked
with an aluminum ring or clearly painted to ensure the
correct distance measurement. It is our objective to
record and Video of working over a tied down chair. -
