ATFUSA RULE 101.2 CLASS T11-T12 Long Jump (WPA 27.6)

For athletes in Sport Classes T11 and T12, the take-off area shall consist of a rectangle of 1.00m x 1.22m ± 0.01m which must be prepared in such a way (by use of chalk, talcum powder, light sand, etc.) that the athlete leaves an impression on the area with his take-off foot.

The edge of the take-off area which is nearer to the landing area shall be the scratch Line."

.What Products (not limited to) are used to mark the
Take Off Board -
Chalk / Spray Chalk - Wet or Dry

Talcum Powder, - Dry

Light Sand - Dry

Baby Powder - Dry

Corn Starch - Dry

Whatever product is used it should be applied thick enough to clearly leave an impression.

Ideally it is white or a very light color & not slippery.

Many things work well when the surface is dry, but some substances do not work well in rain or wet conditions

Board Setup

The 1 Meter Take off Board includes the existing jump board if setup that way. This is not necessary however, The 1 meter Take Off Board may be a separate space on the runway.

Put lines of tape, that are the color of the runway, down on the runway. The distance between them is exactly one meter

. The powder substance is put between the pieces of tape. This helps clearly identify the edges for measurement purposes and fouls for going beyond the true power lines on the jump.

- Clean Up

To clean the substance up at the end of competition, sand from the pit is typically placed on it and the mixture is swept into the pit. Then wet towels are used to rub up the residue.
